Proactive Driving School, is one of the leading driving school in the Hobart region, having been rated one of the best driving schools Five times in a row since 2018. Our goal is to help create safer drivers on the roads by providing comprehensive coverage of all aspects of driving in highly structured and in-depth training to ensure that learners gain the skills and knowledge needed to drive confidently and safely.

Yashwant Dhiman is passionate about driver training and finds the process of teaching people and training them to become good drivers incredibly rewarding. He continually updates his skills, knowledge and understanding of road rules to deliver the best driver education possible.

Our Trainer and P 1 Driving Assessor

Hi, my name is Yashwant ( usually known as Yash) I am the Senior trainer and Accredited P1 Driving Assessor.

My goal is to support you in a friendly and fun environment where you can learn safe driving skills that will last you a lifetime. I have 25 years of combined working experience in different service industries (teaching and public transport & tourism industry) I also worked as a bus operator and mentor with Metro Tasmania Bus company, Hobart Depot which has allowed me to gain extensive experience in heavy vehicle driving and coaching within a diverse environment also enable me to get a very good sense of Hobart and surrounding areas.

I continually update my skills, knowledge and understanding of the road rules in line with today’s expectations. This enables me to deliver the best quality instruction possible. I really enjoy my work. The process of teaching people, often from scratch, and training them to become good drivers is really rewarding. I can teach across different ages, experience, and backgrounds. I am calm and patient which helps to put learners at ease. There is nothing better than seeing my learners with a big smile on their face once they have achieved their licence. Happy learner, happy instructor!

. Accredited P 1 Driving Assessor by Department of State Growth, Tas.

. Cert -1V in Transport & Logistics (Car Driving Instructor)

. Have a current Working with Vulnerable People certification.

. HLTAID001 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

. Member of Australian Driving Trainers Association.

. Accredited and Trained by Institute of Driver Health for Driver Assessment

and Rehabilitation in the following areas:

Physical, vision and cognitive defects and implications for driving, mental illness, anxiety and ageing and implications for driving; vehicle modifications for disabilities; on-road assessment, teaching methods and remediation for specific modifications, disabilities, and medical conditions; vehicle ergonomics, licensing policies and procedures; medico-legal and ethical issues.
